Universidad Blas Pascal: an app transforming the university experience

In a context where mobility and speed are part of everyday university life, Universidad Blas Pascal (UBP) sought a new channel to interact with its academic community. The challenge was clear: to bring the digital services already available on its web platform into a mobile experience that was fluid, intuitive, and secure — connecting students, teachers, and staff with everything they need day-to-day.

What did UBP need?

The university needed a cross-platform mobile application that could integrate its institutional services and improve communication and management within the campus.

The goal was to unify essential functions in one digital space: teachers can take attendance, open doors using QR codes, register parking plates, and view classes, exams, grades, and institutional email, among others.

In addition, UBP aimed to modernize its content management by migrating information from local file systems to a cloud-based solution that would ensure greater availability, security, and scalability — leaving behind physical servers to optimize performance and efficiency.

¿How we made it possible?

Bitlogic partnered with UBP in the comprehensive development of the application, bringing a technology-driven approach based on Flutter for the mobile app and a serverless architecture on AWS that combined performance, flexibility, and efficient maintenance.

Key technologies used:

• Flutter for cross-platform development (iOS and Android)
• AWS Lambda with Java for backend logic
• AWS API Gateway as the connection point between the app and cloud services
• Amazon S3 for data migration from local servers to the cloud
• Backend for Frontend (BFF) integration with existing university systems to maintain compatibility with its infrastructure
• Integrated authentication service, compatible with both institutional accounts and Microsoft 365

The university at a single touch

The new mobile app became a digital gateway to the university, enhancing the experience for students and teachers alike. From marking attendance or checking grades to opening doors or accessing institutional email — everything is just one tap away.

Additionally, the migration of data to the cloud represented a strategic milestone in the institution’s technological infrastructure, reducing reliance on physical servers and boosting scalability. The app is publicly available on iOS and Android, consolidating a solid step in UBP’s digital transformation journey.
